Laveena’s journey has been filled with immense pain and hardship, yet her strength and resilience shine through despite the obstacles she has faced. From being abandoned by her father at such a young age to losing her mother, Laveena has faced the cruelest of circumstances alone. When her health took a turn for the worse with continuous fever, headaches, and seizures, her neighbours noticed something was wrong and took her to a nearby hospital. Despite the local hospital’s inability to diagnose her, she was referred to Apollo Hospital in Delhi, where she met Dr. Amita Mahajan. After a series of tests, Laveena was diagnosed with Leukemia (blood cancer).
Tragically, as an orphan with no family support, Laveena found herself facing another daunting challenge: she had no one to care for her and no money to start her treatment. Her relatives abandoned her when they learned of her diagnosis, leaving her without a lifeline. However, just when things seemed most bleak, Dr. Amita Mahajan reached out to Leukemia Crusaders.
Leukemia Crusaders immediately stepped forward to help, providing the critical financial assistance that allowed Laveena’s treatment to begin. Their timely intervention made all the difference, giving Laveena the chance to fight for her life. Thanks to this generous support, Laveena was able to start her chemotherapy, which in turn helped catalyze more funds from the government and other NGOs, ensuring that her treatment could continue.
While the road ahead remains long and challenging, she has regained hope. Her dreams of achieving great heights in her career are still alive, and she remains determined to pursue them with the strength and brilliance that has always defined her. She is forever grateful to Leukemia Crusaders for standing by her side when no one else would, giving her a chance to not only survive but thrive. Their unwavering support has made it possible for Laveena to dream big, and she holds onto that hope every day as she continues her fight against cancer.
