Japanjot Singh, a young boy from Bathinda, was living a simple, happy life with his family when an unexpected storm changed everything. His father, a hardworking shopkeeper earning just ₹10,000 a month, did everything he could to support his loved ones. Their lives were humble yet content—until illness struck, shaking their world.
It all began when Japanjot started feeling persistently unwell. His worried parents took him to multiple doctors, hoping for a simple diagnosis and quick recovery. He initially presented with a high fever (101°F) and was evaluated by a local doctor in Bathinda. However, as his symptoms persisted, his family sought further medical advice from the doctor at Chandigarh Hospital, Bathinda. Concerned, the doctors conducted multiple tests for infections, but the results remained inconclusive.
Under the supervision of Dr. Prashant Chhabra, Japanjot underwent a bone marrow test, and on that fateful day, his family received devastating news—he was diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).
With no time to lose, Japanjot was referred to CMC Ludhiana for immediate treatment. Determined to save their son, his father borrowed money from friends and family to start chemotherapy. However, just as the treatment began, a new crisis emerged—Japanjot developed severe infections and was diagnosed with Pneumonia. His condition deteriorated rapidly, and the rising cost of treatment became an unbearable burden.
Watching their son suffer, his parents were completely broken—their financial resources had run dry, and they were left with no way to continue his treatment. At this critical moment, the hospital social worker reached out to Leukemia Crusaders. Recognizing the urgency, Leukemia Crusaders transferred the necessary funds within 24 hours, ensuring that Japanjot’s treatment continued without interruption.
Today, Japanjot has successfully overcome Pneumonia and continues his battle against Leukemia with unshakable determination. He is a true fighter, showing incredible resilience and strength in the face of adversity.
His family is forever grateful for the timely support that came when they needed it the most.
