Safiya Tehreem is a 4-year-old girl from Hosakote, Bangalore. She comes from a financially vulnerable family where her father is the sole earning member. Safiya has two siblings, and the family depends entirely on her father’s income to meet their daily living expenses.
Initial Symptoms and Medical History
Safiya initially developed persistent fever and cough, which continued for more than a week. Concerned about her health, her family approached local doctors, and several preliminary investigations were carried out. The initial reports revealed abnormal findings, indicating that further specialized evaluation was required.
Referral to SSCHRC, Bangalore

Diagnosis
The investigation reports confirmed that Safiya was suffering from Precursor B Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. The diagnosis came as a devastating shock to the family.
