My son was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in Feb 2018. Our family was completely shattered after hearing the news. We were very confused and did not know what to do next. One of my friends told me about Mr. Arvind Vohra. Immediately I rushed to his residence to meet him (as it was 10 p.m). I felt assured after meeting him and rushed my son to the hospital for starting treatment . Next day itself treatment started and because of the timely help today my son is absolutely fine and going to school. I will never be able to forget the fast and timely support of BVMT.

My son was diagnosed with Leukemia in November 2013. We were very worried because we did not have enough money for the treatment and that’s when we got to know about BansiVidya Memorial Trust. We got timely financial help from the trust and now my son is free from this disease. Many Thanks to the Trust as they helped us a lot for my Son’s treatment.

Iyappan was first seen in our community health centre with high fever and nose bleeds. The doctor there was worried after seeing the blood reports and therefore referred him to the main hospital. Iyappan was admitted in the main hospital and diagnosed to have leukemia. He developed tumour lysis syndrome which is a complication that can lead to kidney failure. This family was in no position to pay for the treatment of their 14 year old son and was on the verge of discontinuing treatment. Help from Leukemia crusaders saved this young person. Further funds from other sources were received but without the initial help from leukemia crusaders, this family would not have stayed on for treatment. Currently Iyappan is on maintenance phase of treatment and is doing well.

Subhojit Pan. a 15 year old boy was living his normal life in his village till early June 2018, when he developed a prolonged episode of fever. Initial evaluation was suggestive of blood cancer, hence he was brought to CMC for further treatment. His parents collected some money from extended family and friends for their travel to Vellore, boarding and lodging. They had some money for initial expenses in the hospital, but exhausted their reserve at the end of a week of stay here. They were on the verge of discontinuing treatment due to financial constraints. With the timely help from Leukaemia Crusaders, his family managed to continue the induction phase of chemotherapy. By the end of first month of treatment, we were able to get more funds for his treatment. Her is currently in the interim maintenance phase of treatment and is doing well by God’s grace. His parents are thankful for the immeasurable support from Leukaemia Crusaders which had boosted their motivation to continue further treatment.

8 year old Anil, who is undergoing treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia came to us from a remote village in Andhra Pradesh. This family had mobilised some finance to start treatment and were hopeful that they can continue treatment. However, due to an unforeseen complication Anil was admitted in hospital for 42 days . This led to huge hospital bill, which exhausted most of their resources, even after getting some concession for hospital. Parents were shattered and were on the verge of giving up, when we received a bridge fund from Leukaemia Crusaders. It is highly commendable that the fund was transferred to hospital within two days of us sending a request for help.

Viswa, a 3 year old child from a nearby village to our hospital was diagnosed to have Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia on July 2017. His father is a casual labourer and mother is a housewife. Parents have pawned their assets and borrowed money from villagers to start Viswa’s treatment. Our team had applied to various trusts for financial support, which on an average takes 4-6 weeks for approval and transfer of 1st instalment. Viswa’s parents were desperate for immediate financial to continue his treatment. Here again, the Leukaemia Crusaders stepped in to provide timely help so that his treatment can be continued.
